18 耶 戶 招 聚 眾 民 ， 對 他 們 說 ： 亞 哈 事 奉 巴 力 還 冷 淡 ， 耶 戶 卻 更 熱 心 。

2 Kings 10:18

And Jehu gathered all the people together
The people of Samaria, at least the principal of them:

and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little, [but] Jehu shall serve
him much;
which some understand as spoken ironically; but the words seem to be spoken with a design to deceive the idolatrous inhabitants of Samaria, making them to believe that he was hearty in the worship of Baal, and should show a greater respect to it, and more constantly attend it, than Ahab had done; and this he said with a view to draw them to the temple of Baal, and there destroy them, as the sequel shows; and in which he is not to be justified, however good his intention was; for evil is not to be done that good may come.

16 耶 戶 說 ： 你 和 我 同 去 ， 看 我 為 耶 和 華 怎 樣 熱 心 ； 於 是 請 他 坐 在 車 上 ，

17 到 了 撒 瑪 利 亞 ， 就 把 撒 瑪 利 亞 的 亞 哈 家 剩 下 的 人 都 殺 了 ， 直 到 滅 盡 ， 正 如 耶 和 華 對 以 利 亞 所 說 的 。

18 耶 戶 招 聚 眾 民 ， 對 他 們 說 ： 亞 哈 事 奉 巴 力 還 冷 淡 ， 耶 戶 卻 更 熱 心 。

19 現 在 我 要 給 巴 力 獻 大 祭 。 應 當 叫 巴 力 的 眾 先 知 和 一 切 拜 巴 力 的 人 ， 並 巴 力 的 眾 祭 司 ， 都 到 我 這 裡 來 ， 不 可 缺 少 一 個 ； 凡 不 來 的 必 不 得 活 。 耶 戶 這 樣 行 ， 是 用 詭 計 要 殺 盡 拜 巴 力 的 人 。

20 耶 戶 說 ： 要 為 巴 力 宣 告 嚴 肅 會 ！ 於 是 宣 告 了 。
