8 以 利 亞 將 自 己 的 外 衣 捲 起 來 ， 用 以 打 水 ， 水 就 左 右 分 開 ， 二 人 走 乾 地 而 過 。

2 Kings 2:8

And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together
Folded it up close together, in a position to smite with it; this is thought to be not his hairy garment, but a shorter robe, that was worn upon his shoulders; but the Greek version renders it by "melotes", and so in ( 2 Kings 2:14 ) , which, according to Isidore ^F12, was a goat's skin, hanging down from the neck, and girt at the loins; and being thus clothed, perhaps, may be the reason of his being called an hairy man, ( 2 Kings 1:8 ) ,

and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither;
just as Moses lifted up his rod, and the waters of the sea were divided for the Israelites:

so that they two went over on dry ground;
in like manner as the Israelites did through the sea.

6 以 利 亞 對 以 利 沙 說 ： 耶 和 華 差 遣 我 往 約 但 河 去 ， 你 可 以 在 這 裡 等 候 。 以 利 沙 說 ： 我 指 著 永 生 的 耶 和 華 ， 又 敢 在 你 面 前 起 誓 ， 我 必 不 離 開 你 。 於 是 二 人 一 同 前 往 。

7 有 先 知 門 徒 去 了 五 十 人 ， 遠 遠 地 站 在 他 們 對 面 ； 二 人 在 約 但 河 邊 站 住 。

8 以 利 亞 將 自 己 的 外 衣 捲 起 來 ， 用 以 打 水 ， 水 就 左 右 分 開 ， 二 人 走 乾 地 而 過 。

9 過 去 之 後 ， 以 利 亞 對 以 利 沙 說 ： 我 未 曾 被 接 去 離 開 你 ， 你 要 我 為 你 做 甚 麼 ， 只 管 求 我 。 以 利 沙 說 ： 願 感 動 你 的 靈 加 倍 地 感 動 我 。

10 以 利 亞 說 ： 你 所 求 的 難 得 。 雖 然 如 此 ， 我 被 接 去 離 開 你 的 時 候 ， 你 若 看 見 我 ， 就 必 得 著 ； 不 然 ， 必 得 不 著 了 。
