2 Kings 24:17

And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father's brother
king in his stead
The third son of Josiah, ( 1 Chronicles 3:15 )

and changed his name to Zedekiah;
for the same reason the king of Egypt changed the name of Eliakim, ( 2 Kings 23:34 ) to signify his subjection to him; though some think it was to put him in mind of the justice of God, as the name signifies, that would overtake him, should he be treacherous to him, and rebel against him; so the Jewish Midrash.

15 並 將 約 雅 斤 和 王 母 、 后 妃 、 太 監 ， 與 國 中 的 大 官 ， 都 從 耶 路 撒 冷 擄 到 巴 比 倫 去 了 ；

16 又 將 一 切 勇 士 七 千 人 和 木 匠 、 鐵 匠 一 千 人 ， 都 是 能 上 陣 的 勇 士 ， 全 擄 到 巴 比 倫 去 了 。

17 巴 比 倫 王 立 約 雅 斤 的 叔 叔 瑪 探 雅 代 替 他 作 王 ， 給 瑪 探 雅 改 名 叫 西 底 家 。

18 西 底 家 登 基 的 時 候 年 二 十 一 歲 ， 在 耶 路 撒 冷 作 王 十 一 年 。 他 母 親 名 叫 哈 慕 他 ， 是 立 拿 人 耶 利 米 的 女 兒 。

19 西 底 家 行 耶 和 華 眼 中 看 為 惡 的 事 ， 是 照 約 雅 敬 一 切 所 行 的 。
