Luke 23:52

This man went unto Pilate,
&C.] Mark says, he went "boldly" to him; (See Gill on Mark 15:43).

and begged the body of Jesus;
knowing he was dead; that he might bury it, as the Ethiopic version adds, and prevent its being inferred with the two malefactors, or abused by the mob.

50 有 一 個 人 名 叫 約 瑟 ， 是 個 議 士 ， 為 人 善 良 公 義 ；

51 眾 人 所 謀 所 為 ， 他 並 沒 有 附 從 。 他 本 是 猶 太 、 亞 利 馬 太 城 裡 素 常 盼 望 神 國 的 人 。

52 這 人 去 見 彼 拉 多 ， 求 耶 穌 的 身 體 ，

53 就 取 下 來 ， 用 細 麻 布 裹 好 ， 安 放 在 石 頭 鑿 成 的 墳 墓 裡 ； 那 裡 頭 從 來 沒 有 葬 過 人 。

54 那 日 是 預 備 日 ， 安 息 日 也 快 到 了 。
