15 對 我 說 話 的 ， 拿 著 金 葦 子 當 尺 ， 要 量 那 城 和 城 門 城 牆 。

Revelation 21:15

And he that talked with me
One of the seven angels, ( Revelation 21:9 ) for not a man is the measurer of this city, as in ( Ezekiel 40:3 ) nor John, as of the temple, ( Revelation 11:1 ) but an angel, the same that showed to John this great sight:

had a golden reed;
not a common measuring reed, or rod, as in ( Ezekiel 40:4 ) ( Revelation 11:1 ) but one covered with gold, denoting the present glorious state of the church, being without spot or wrinkle, or any such thing:

to measure the city;
the new Jerusalem, its length and breadth; see ( Zechariah 2:1 Zechariah 2:2 ) to show how exactly conformable this church state will be to the rule of God's word, even to perfection: and the gates thereof; to signify who had a right to enter into it, and who not:

and the wall thereof;
its height, it being exceeding high.

14 城 牆 有 十 二 根 基 ， 根 基 上 有 羔 羊 十 二 使 徒 的 名 字 。

15 對 我 說 話 的 ， 拿 著 金 葦 子 當 尺 ， 要 量 那 城 和 城 門 城 牆 。

16 城 是 四 方 的 ， 長 寬 一 樣 。 天 使 用 葦 子 量 那 城 ， 共 有 四 千 里 ， 長 、 寬 、 高 都 是 一 樣 ；

17 又 量 了 城 牆 ， 按 著 人 的 尺 寸 ， 就 是 天 使 的 尺 寸 ， 共 有 一 百 四 十 四 肘 。
