And David gathered all the people together
The soldiers that were with him, or near him; which was done partly to recruit Joab's troops, who, by the continuance of the siege, and the sallies of the enemy on them, might be greatly diminished; and partly to make conquests of other cities of the Ammonites, and to carry off the spoil of them:

and went to Rabbah;
which must be after the death of Uriah, and very probably during the time of Bathsheba's mourning for him:

and fought against it, and took it;
by assault.

27 約 押 打 發 使 者 去 見 大 衛 ， 說 ： 我 攻 打 拉 巴 ， 取 其 水 城 。

28 現 在 你 要 聚 集 其 餘 的 軍 兵 來 ， 安 營 圍 攻 這 城 ， 恐 怕 我 取 了 這 城 ， 人 就 以 我 的 名 叫 這 城 。

29 於 是 大 衛 聚 集 眾 軍 ， 往 拉 巴 去 攻 城 ， 就 取 了 這 城 ，

30 奪 了 亞 捫 人 之 王 所 戴 的 金 冠 冕 （ 王 ： 或 譯 瑪 勒 堪 ； 瑪 勒 堪 就 是 米 勒 公 ， 又 名 摩 洛 ， 亞 捫 族 之 神 名 ） ， 其 上 的 金 子 重 一 他 連 得 ， 又 嵌 著 寶 石 。 人 將 這 冠 冕 戴 在 大 衛 頭 上 。 大 衛 從 城 裡 奪 了 許 多 財 物 ，

31 將 城 裡 的 人 拉 出 來 ， 放 在 鋸 下 ， 或 鐵 耙 下 ， 或 鐵 斧 下 ， 或 叫 他 經 過 磚 窯 （ 或 譯 ： 強 他 們 用 鋸 ， 或 用 打 糧 食 的 鐵 器 ， 或 用 鐵 斧 做 工 ， 或 使 在 磚 窯 裡 服 役 ） ； 大 衛 待 亞 捫 各 城 的 居 民 都 是 如 此 。 其 後 ， 大 衛 和 眾 軍 都 回 耶 路 撒 冷 去 了 。
