18 只 是 我 們 不 能 將 自 己 的 女 兒 給 他 們 為 妻 ； 因 為 以 色 列 人 曾 起 誓 說 ， 有 將 女 兒 給 便 雅 憫 人 為 妻 的 ， 必 受 咒 詛 。

Judges 21:18

Howbeit, we may not give them wives of our daughters
Though their case was so very necessitous and desperate:

for the children of Israel have sworn, saying, cursed be he that giveth
a wife to Benjamin,
( Judges 21:1 ) and therefore without the violation of their oath could not give any of their daughters in marriage to them: wherefore some other way must be devised to help them.

16 會 中 的 長 老 說 ： 便 雅 憫 中 的 女 子 既 然 除 滅 了 ， 我 們 當 怎 樣 辦 理 、 使 那 餘 剩 的 人 有 妻 呢 ？

17 又 說 ： 便 雅 憫 逃 脫 的 人 當 有 地 業 ， 免 得 以 色 列 中 塗 抹 了 一 個 支 派 。

18 只 是 我 們 不 能 將 自 己 的 女 兒 給 他 們 為 妻 ； 因 為 以 色 列 人 曾 起 誓 說 ， 有 將 女 兒 給 便 雅 憫 人 為 妻 的 ， 必 受 咒 詛 。

19 他 們 又 說 ： 在 利 波 拿 以 南 ， 伯 特 利 以 北 ， 在 示 劍 大 路 以 東 的 示 羅 ， 年 年 有 耶 和 華 的 節 期 ；

20 就 吩 咐 便 雅 憫 人 說 ： 你 們 去 ， 在 葡 萄 園 中 埋 伏 。
