14 我 卻 為 我 名 的 緣 故 ， 沒 有 這 樣 行 ， 免 得 我 的 名 在 我 領 他 們 出 埃 及 的 列 國 人 眼 前 被 褻 瀆 。

Ezekiel 20:14

But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be
polluted before the Heathen (See Gill on Ezekiel 20:9); who would be ready to say it was for want of power, or faithfulness, or, goodness, that he did not bring them into the promised land; or there was no such land to bring them to God's own glory was concerned, and that is his ultimate end in all he does; and is of more weight with him than any other argument whatever: in whose sight I brought them out;
from Egypt, into the wilderness; this was done publicly in the sight of the Egyptians, they urging them to be gone.

12 又 將 我 的 安 息 日 賜 給 他 們 ， 好 在 我 與 他 們 中 間 為 證 據 ， 使 他 們 知 道 我 ─ 耶 和 華 是 叫 他 們 成 為 聖 的 。

13 以 色 列 家 卻 在 曠 野 悖 逆 我 ， 不 順 從 我 的 律 例 ， 厭 棄 我 的 典 章 （ 人 若 遵 行 就 必 因 此 活 著 ） ， 大 大 干 犯 我 的 安 息 日 。 我 就 說 ， 要 在 曠 野 將 我 的 忿 怒 傾 在 他 們 身 上 ， 滅 絕 他 們 。

15 並 且 我 在 曠 野 向 他 們 起 誓 ， 必 不 領 他 們 進 入 我 所 賜 給 他 們 流 奶 與 蜜 之 地 （ 那 地 在 萬 國 中 是 有 榮 耀 的 ） ；

16 因 為 他 們 厭 棄 我 的 典 章 ， 不 順 從 我 的 律 例 ， 干 犯 我 的 安 息 日 ， 他 們 的 心 隨 從 自 己 的 偶 像 。
