9 Yuēshūyà jiù zhào Yēhéhuá suǒ fēnfu tāde qù xíng , kǎn duàn tāmen mǎ de tí jīn , yòng huǒ fùnshāo tāmende chēliàng .

YuēShūyàjì 11:9 Meaning and Commentary

Joshua 11:9

And Joshua did unto them as the Lord bade him
Namely, in the following instances:

he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire;
not consulting his own worldly interest or that of the people of Israel, but the command of God, which he carefully obeyed, and reserved none for himself or them, as David in another case afterwards did; see ( 2 Samuel 8:4 ) .

8 Yēhéhuá jiāng tāmen jiāo zaì Yǐsèliè rén shǒu lǐ , Yǐsèliè rén jiù jī shā tāmen , zhuīgǎn tāmen dào Xīdùn dà chéng , dào Mǐsīlìfúmǎyīn , zhídào dōngbiān Mǐsībā de píngyuán , jiāng tāmen jī shā , méiyǒu liú xià yī gè .

10 Dāngshí , Yuēshūyà zhuǎn huí duó le Xiàsuǒ , yòng dāo jī shā Xiàsuǒ wáng . sùlái Xiàsuǒ zaì zhè zhū guó zhōng shì wéi shǒu de .

11 Yǐsèliè rén yòng dāo jī shā chéng zhōng de rénkǒu , jiāng tāmen jìn xíng shā miè . fán yǒu qìxī de méiyǒu liú xià yī gè . Yuēshūyà yòu yòng huǒ fùnshāo Xiàsuǒ .
