Daniel 9:20

And while I was speaking and praying
Speaking to God in prayer; for it seems his prayer was vocal, and not mental only: and confessing my sin, and the sin of my people Israel;
Daniel, though so holy and good a man, was not without sin, and thought it his duty to confess it before the Lord; and which he did in the first place, and then the sin of his people; which is the way to succeed with the Lord for the application of pardoning grace, and the enjoyment of other mercies and blessings: and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy
mountain of my God;
for the temple, and the service of God in it; which was the first and principal thing that lay upon the heart of the prophet, and he was most importunate and solicitous for.

18 我 的 　 神 啊 ， 求 你 侧 耳 而 听 ， 睁 眼 而 看 ， 眷 顾 我 们 荒 凉 之 地 和 称 为 你 名 下 的 城 。 我 们 在 你 面 前 恳 求 ， 原 不 是 因 自 己 的 义 ， 乃 因 你 的 大 怜 悯 。

19 求 主 垂 听 ， 求 主 赦 免 ， 求 主 应 允 而 行 ， 为 你 自 己 不 要 迟 延 。 我 的 　 神 啊 ， 因 这 城 和 这 民 都 是 称 为 你 名 下 的 。

21 我 正 祷 告 的 时 候 ， 先 前 在 异 象 中 所 见 的 那 位 加 百 列 ， 奉 命 迅 速 飞 来 ， 约 在 献 晚 祭 的 时 候 ， 按 手 在 我 身 上 。

22 他 指 教 我 说 ： 但 以 理 啊 ， 现 在 我 出 来 要 使 你 有 智 慧 ， 有 聪 明 。
