2 Chronicles 11:15

And he ordained him priests for the high places
Of such who were not of the tribe of Levi, and family of Aaron; see ( 1 Kings 12:31 )

and for the devils;
demons in the shape of goats, as this word signifies, in which form many of the Heathen deities were worshipped; idols of whatsoever kind are so called; for whosoever worships them worships not God, but devils, ( 1 Corinthians 10:21 ) the images which Jeroboam set up may be meant, and the next clause may be rendered as explanative of them:

even for the calves which he had made;
one of which he set up at Dan, and the other at Bethel, ( 1 Kings 12:28 1 Kings 12:29 ) .

14 利 未 人 撇 下 他 们 的 郊 野 和 产 业 ， 来 到 犹 大 与 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 是 因 耶 罗 波 安 和 他 的 儿 子 拒 绝 他 们 ， 不 许 他 们 供 祭 司 职 分 事 奉 耶 和 华 。

16 以 色 列 各 支 派 中 ， 凡 立 定 心 意 寻 求 耶 和 华 ─ 以 色 列 　 神 的 ， 都 随 从 利 未 人 ， 来 到 耶 路 撒 冷 祭 祀 耶 和 华 ─ 他 们 列 祖 的 　 神 。

17 这 样 ， 就 坚 固 犹 大 国 ， 使 所 罗 门 的 儿 子 罗 波 安 强 盛 三 年 ， 因 为 他 们 三 年 遵 行 大 卫 和 所 罗 门 的 道 。
