18 耶 户 招 聚 众 民 ， 对 他 们 说 ： 亚 哈 事 奉 巴 力 还 冷 淡 ， 耶 户 却 更 热 心 。

2 Kings 10:18

And Jehu gathered all the people together
The people of Samaria, at least the principal of them:

and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little, [but] Jehu shall serve
him much;
which some understand as spoken ironically; but the words seem to be spoken with a design to deceive the idolatrous inhabitants of Samaria, making them to believe that he was hearty in the worship of Baal, and should show a greater respect to it, and more constantly attend it, than Ahab had done; and this he said with a view to draw them to the temple of Baal, and there destroy them, as the sequel shows; and in which he is not to be justified, however good his intention was; for evil is not to be done that good may come.

16 耶 户 说 ： 你 和 我 同 去 ， 看 我 为 耶 和 华 怎 样 热 心 ； 於 是 请 他 坐 在 车 上 ，

17 到 了 撒 玛 利 亚 ， 就 把 撒 玛 利 亚 的 亚 哈 家 剩 下 的 人 都 杀 了 ， 直 到 灭 尽 ， 正 如 耶 和 华 对 以 利 亚 所 说 的 。

18 耶 户 招 聚 众 民 ， 对 他 们 说 ： 亚 哈 事 奉 巴 力 还 冷 淡 ， 耶 户 却 更 热 心 。

19 现 在 我 要 给 巴 力 献 大 祭 。 应 当 叫 巴 力 的 众 先 知 和 一 切 拜 巴 力 的 人 ， 并 巴 力 的 众 祭 司 ， 都 到 我 这 里 来 ， 不 可 缺 少 一 个 ； 凡 不 来 的 必 不 得 活 。 耶 户 这 样 行 ， 是 用 诡 计 要 杀 尽 拜 巴 力 的 人 。

20 耶 户 说 ： 要 为 巴 力 宣 告 严 肃 会 ！ 於 是 宣 告 了 。
