Luke 3:18

And many other thing's
Relating to the person and office of the Messiah, to the nature of his kingdom, the Gospel dispensation, and to faith in him; for he pointed him out to the people, and exhorted them to believe in him, and expressed much joy and pleasure on the hearing of his success and increase; and these, with others beside, in his "exhortation", or whilst he was

exhorting,
or "comforting", preached he unto the people:
publishing the Gospel, the good news, and glad tidings of the Messiah's being come, and of life, righteousness, and salvation by him.

16 约 翰 说 ： 我 是 用 水 给 你 们 施 洗 ， 但 有 一 位 能 力 比 我 更 大 的 要 来 ， 我 就 是 给 他 解 鞋 带 也 不 配 。 他 要 用 圣 灵 与 火 给 你 们 施 洗 。

17 他 手 里 拿 着 簸 箕 ， 要 扬 净 他 的 场 ， 把 麦 子 收 在 仓 里 ， 把 糠 用 不 灭 的 火 烧 尽 了 。

18 约 翰 又 用 许 多 别 的 话 劝 百 姓 ， 向 他 们 传 福 音 。

19 只 是 分 封 的 王 希 律 ， 因 他 兄 弟 之 妻 希 罗 底 的 缘 故 ， 并 因 他 所 行 的 一 切 恶 事 ， 受 了 约 翰 的 责 备 ；

20 又 另 外 添 了 一 件 ， 就 是 把 约 翰 收 在 监 里 。
