Joshua 10:26

And afterwards Joshua smote them and slew them
With the sword; either by his own hands, or by others whom he ordered to slay them:

and hanged them on five trees;
to their shame and disgrace, and the terror of others:

and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening;
by way of contempt of them, and as a spectacle of terror to others, especially to the inhabitants of Makkedah, and their king they were now besieging.

27 日 头 要 落 的 时 候 ， 约 书 亚 一 吩 咐 ， 人 就 把 尸 首 从 树 上 取 下 来 ， 丢 在 他 们 藏 过 的 洞 里 ， 把 几 块 大 石 头 放 在 洞 口 ， 直 存 到 今 日 。

28 当 日 ， 约 书 亚 夺 了 玛 基 大 ， 用 刀 击 杀 城 中 的 人 和 王 ； 将 其 中 一 切 人 口 尽 行 杀 灭 ， 没 有 留 下 一 个 。 他 待 玛 基 大 王 ， 像 从 前 待 耶 利 哥 王 一 样 。
