And ye shall lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.
Ver. 18-20. Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart, and in your soul Treasure up the laws of God delivered to them in their minds, retain them in their memories, and cherish a cordial affection for them; which would be an antidote against apostasy, idolatry, and other sins, ( Psalms 119:11 )
and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes; of this and the two following verses, (See Gill on Deuteronomy 6:7), (See Gill on Deuteronomy 6:8), (See Gill on Deuteronomy 6:9).

Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside and serve other gods, and bow down to them,

and Jehovah's wrath kindle against you, and he shut up the heavens, that there be no rain, and that the ground yield not its produce, and ye perish quickly from off the good land which Jehovah is giving you.
