Acts 7:54-60

The Stoning of Stephen

54 Now when they heard these things 1they were enraged, and they 2ground their teeth at him.
55 But he, 3full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw 4the glory of God, and Jesus standing 5at the right hand of God.
56 And he said, "Behold, I see 6the heavens opened, and 7the Son of Man standing 8at the right hand of God."
57 But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together[a] at him.
58 Then 9they cast him out of the city and 10stoned him. And 11the witnesses laid down their garments 12at the feet of a young man named Saul.
59 And as they were stoning Stephen, 13he called out, "Lord Jesus, 14receive my spirit."
60 And 15falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, 16"Lord, do not hold this sin against them." And when he had said this, 17he fell asleep.
