John 14:16-23

16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another ¹Helper, ^[a] to be with you forever,

17 even ²the Spirit of truth, ³whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and ⁴will be^[b] in you.

18 “I will not leave you as orphans; ⁵I will come to you.

19 ⁶Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but ⁷you will see me. ⁸Because I live, you also will live.

20 ⁹In that day you will know that ¹⁰I am in my Father, and ¹¹you in me, and ¹²I in you.

21 ¹³Whoever has my commandments and ¹⁴keeps them, he it is who loves me. And ¹⁵he who loves me ¹⁶will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and ¹⁷manifest myself to him. ”

22 ¹⁸Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it ¹⁹that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world? ”

23 Jesus answered him, ²⁰“If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and ²¹we will come to him and ²²make our home with him.
