And when ye see the south wind blow
From the hot countries of Egypt, Ethiopia, and Arabia, which lay south of Judea:

ye say there will be heat;
or hot sultry weather, scorching heat, which such a wind brings with it:

and it cometh to pass;
generally speaking, as is asserted.

55 And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ā€˜There will be scorching heat, ’ and it happens.
56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?
57 ā€œAnd why do you not judge for yourselves what is right?
