Luke 24:45-49

45 Then ¹he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,

46 and said to them, “Thus ²it is written, ³that the Christ should suffer and on the third day ⁴rise from the dead,

47 and that ⁵repentance and^[a] forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed ⁶in his name ⁷to all nations, ⁸beginning from Jerusalem.

48 ⁹You are witnesses of these things.

49 And behold, I am sending ¹⁰the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you ¹¹are clothed with ¹²power ¹³from on high. ”
