Jesus Foretells Peterâs Denial
26
1
And when they had sung a hymn,
2
they went out to
3
the Mount of Olives.
27
And Jesus said to them, âYou will all fall away, for it is written, âI will
4
strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered. â
28
But after I am raised up,
5
I will go before you to Galilee. â
29
6
Peter said to him, âEven though they all fall away, I will not. â
30
And
7
Jesus said to him, âTruly, I tell you, this very night, before
8
the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times. â
31
But
9
he said emphatically, âIf I must die with you, I will not deny you. â And they all said the same.
