Matthew 6:7-13

7 "And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as ¹the Gentiles do, for ²they think that they will be heard ³for their many words.

8 Do not be like them, ⁴for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

9 ⁵Pray then like this: ⁶"Our Father in heaven, ⁷hallowed be ⁸your name.^[a]

10 ⁹Your kingdom come, ¹⁰your will be done,^{[b] 11}on earth as it is in heaven.

11 ¹²Give us ¹³this day our daily bread,^[c]

12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13 And ¹⁴lead us not into temptation, but ¹⁵deliver us from ¹⁶evil.^[d]
