7 Così uscirono fuori dietro a lui la gente di Ioab, ed i Cheretei, ed i Peletei, e tutti gli uomini di valore; ed uscirono di Gerusalemme, per perseguitar Seba, figliuolo di Bicri.

2 Samuel 20:7

And there went out after him Joab's men
Who though he was removed from his post as general, yet might still have the command of a regiment:

and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites;
over whom Benaiah was, ( 2 Samuel 20:23 ) ; these attended David in his flight, and had now returned with him, ( 2 Samuel 15:18 ) ;

and all the mighty men;
the military men that were at Jerusalem as many as could be spared:

and they went out of Jerusalem to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri;
with Abishai at the head of them; Josephus F17 says there were six hundred, besides the soldiers at Jerusalem that went on this pursuit.

5 Amasa dunque andò per adunare que’ di Giuda; ma tardò oltre al termine che il re gli avea posto.
6 Laonde Davide disse ad Abisai: Ora Seba, figliuolo di Bicri, ci farĂ  peggio che Absalom; prendi tu la gente del tuo signore, e perseguita Seba; che talora egli non si trovi alcune cittĂ  forti, e scampi dagli occhi nostri.
7 Così uscirono fuori dietro a lui la gente di Ioab, ed i Cheretei, ed i Peletei, e tutti gli uomini di valore; ed uscirono di Gerusalemme, per perseguitar Seba, figliuolo di Bicri.
8 E come furono presso alla gran pietra ch’è in Gabaon, Amasa venne loro incontro. Or Ioab avea cinto il manto onde era vestito; e sopra esso la cintura della spada ch’era attaccata, pendendo sopra i suoi lombi nel fodero. Ed egli si fece avanti, e quella cadde.
9 E Ioab disse ad Amasa: Stai tu bene, fratel mio? Poi con la man destra prese Amasa per la barba, per baciarlo.
