58 Se tu non osservi di mettere in opera tutte le parole di questa Legge, che sono scritte in questo Libro, per temer questo Nome glorioso e tremendo, il Signore Iddio tuo,

Deuteronomy 28:58

If thou wilt not observe to do all the words this law, that
are written in this book
Of Deuteronomy, in which there is a repetition of the laws before delivered, and an addition of some new ones; all which were to be so observed as to be done, to this end,

that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name of the Lord thy
God;
or that it might appear that the fear of God was before their eyes, and in their hearts, by their obedience to his law; that they had a proper awe and reverence of him, who is glorious in his titles and attributes, and whose name Jehovah is holy and reverend; and who, as the covenant God of his people, is to, be feared for his goodness sake.

56 L’occhio della più morbida e delicata donna fra voi, la quale non si sarebbe pure attentata di posar la pianta del piede in terra, per delicatezza e morbidezza, sarà maligno inverso il marito del suo seno, e inverso il suo figliuolo, e inverso la sua figliuola;

57 e ciò, per la secondina che le uscirà d’infra le gambe, e per li suoi figliuoli che partorirà; perciocchè ella li mangerà di nascosto per mancamento d’ogni cosa, nell’assedio e nella distretta, della quale il tuo nemico ti stringerà dentro alle tue porte.

58 Se tu non osservi di mettere in opera tutte le parole di questa Legge, che sono scritte in questo Libro, per temer questo Nome glorioso e tremendo, il Signore Iddio tuo,

59 il Signore percoterà te e la tua progenie di battiture strane, grandi e durabili; e di malattie malvage e durabili.

60 E farà ritornar sopra te tutti i languori di Egitto, de’ quali tu hai avuta paura; ed essi si attaccheranno a te.
