Geremia 1:15

15 Perciocchè, ecco, io chiamo tutte le nazioni de’ regni del Settentrione, dice il Signore; e verranno, e porranno ciascuna il suo seggio reale all’entrata delle porte di Gerusalemme, ed appresso tutte le sue mura d’ogni intorno, ed appresso tutte le città di Giuda.

Jeremiah 1:15

For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the
north, saith the Lord
Which belonged unto and were under the jurisdiction of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and the "call" of them, as Kimchi well observes, is no other than putting it into their hearts to come: and they shall come;
being influenced and directed by the providence of God, who had a principal concern in this matter: and they shall set everyone his throne at the entering of the gates of
Jerusalem;
meaning, not only that they should pitch their military tents, and encamp about Jerusalem, and place themselves at the entering of the gates, in order to get in; but that they should sit down there in great safety and security, and be very successful, victorious, and triumphant: and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the
cities of Judah;
not only besiege Jerusalem, and take that, but also all the rest of the cities of the land.

13 Poi la parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata la seconda volta, dicendo: Che vedi? Ed io dissi: Io veggo una pignatta che bolle, la cui bocca è volta verso il Settentrione.

14 E il Signore mi disse: Dal Settentrione traboccherà il male sopra tutti gli abitanti del paese.

15 Perciocchè, ecco, io chiamo tutte le nazioni de’ regni del Settentrione, dice il Signore; e verranno, e porranno ciascuna il suo seggio reale all’entrata delle porte di Gerusalemme, ed appresso tutte le sue mura d’ogni intorno, ed appresso tutte le città di Giuda.

16 Ed io pronunzierò i miei giudicii contro a loro, per tutta la lor malvagità per la quale mi hanno abbandonato, ed han fatti profumi ad altri dii, ed hanno adorate le opere delle lor mani.

17 Tu adunque, cingiti i lombi, e levati, e di’ loro tutto ciò che io ti comanderò; non aver spavento di loro, che talora io non ti fiacchi nel lor cospetto.
