Giobbe 34:4 Meaning and Commentary

Job 34:4

Let us choose to us judgments
Take the part of the question or controversy in which truth and justice lie, and he doubtless has respect to the present controversy with Job;

let us know among ourselves what [is] good;
agree upon that which is best to be done in the present case, what judgment to be made of the dealings of God with Job, and his behaviour under them, and what the best advice to give to him.

2 Voi savi, udite i miei ragionamenti; E voi intendenti, porgetemi l’orecchio.
3 Perciocchè l’orecchio esamina i ragionamenti, Come il palato assapora ciò che si deve mangiare.
4 Proponiamoci la dirittura, Giudichiamo fra noi che cosa sia bene.
5 Conciossiachè Giobbe abbia detto: Io son giusto; Iddio mi ha tolta la mia ragione.
6 Mentirei io intorno alla mia ragione? La saetta, con la quale son ferito, è dolorosissima, Senza che vi sia misfatto in me.
