John 9:13

They brought to the Pharisees
That is, to the sanhedrim, which chiefly consisted of Pharisees; and so Nonnus calls them the priests and chief priests:

him that was aforetime blind;
to be examined by them. And something like this is the method used by carnal relations and friends, who when they have any belonging to them under a work of grace, have them to their learned doctors of a different religion, to talk to them, and dissuade them from the ways of truth and godliness.

11 Egli rispose, e disse: Un uomo, detto Gesù, fece del loto, e me ne impiastrò gli occhi, e mi disse: Vattene alla pescina di Siloe, e lavati. Ed io, essendovi andato, e lavatomi, ho ricuperata la vista.

12 Ed essi gli dissero: Ov’è colui? Egli disse: Io non so.

13 Ed essi condussero a’ Farisei colui che già era stato cieco.

14 Or era sabato, quando Gesù fece il loto, ed aperse gli occhi d’esso.

15 I Farisei adunque da capo gli domandarono anch’essi, come egli avea ricoverata la vista. Ed egli disse loro: Egli mi mise del loto in su gli occhi, ed io mi lavai, e veggo.
