Isaia 2:15 Meaning and Commentary

Isaiah 2:15

And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall.
] Which may signify everything that serves to support and defend the antichristian hierarchy, particularly the secular powers. The Targum paraphrases it,

``and upon all that dwell in a high tower, and upon all that reside by a fortified wall.''

14 e contro a tutti gli alti monti, e contro a tutti i colli elevati;
15 e contro ad ogni torre eccelsa, e contro ad ogni muro forte;
16 e contro a tutte le navi di Tarsis, e contro a tutti i be’ disegni.
17 E l’altezza degli uomini sarà depressa, e la sublimità degli uomini sarà abbassata; e il Signore solo sarà esaltato in quel giorno.
