Luke 18:4

And he would not for a while
He would give no ear to her cries, nor take her cause in hand, nor right her wrongs, and clear her of her adversary:

but afterward he said within himself;
as he was considering the matter in his own mind, and reflecting on this woman's case and the frequent application she had made to him:

though I fear not God, nor regard man;
a monster in iniquity he was, to say so of himself; for though the character belongs to many, there are few that are so impudent in sin, as to take it to themselves, and glory in it.

2 dicendo: Vi era un giudice in una città, il quale non temeva Iddio, e non avea rispetto ad alcun uomo.

3 Or in quella stessa città vi era una vedova, la qual venne a lui, dicendo: Fammi ragione del mio avversario.

4 Ed egli, per un tempo, non volle farlo; ma pur poi appresso disse fra sè medesimo: Quantunque io non tema Iddio, e non abbia rispetto ad alcun uomo,

5 nondimeno, perciocchè questa vedova mi dà molestia, io le farò ragione; che talora non venga tante volte che alla fine mi stanchi.

6 E il Signore disse: Ascoltate ciò che dice il giudice iniquo.
