Proverbi 23:29-35

Listen to Proverbi 23:29-35
29 A cui avvengono i guai? a cui i lai? A cui le contese? a cui i rammarichi? A cui le battiture senza cagione? a cui il rossore degli occhi?
30 A quelli che si fermano lungamente appresso il vino; A quelli che vanno cercando da mescere.
31 Non riguardare il vino, quando rosseggia, Quando sfavilla nella coppa, E cammina diritto.
32 Egli morderà alla fine come il serpente, E pungerà come l’aspido.
33 Allora gli occhi tuoi vedranno cose strane, E il tuo cuore parlerà cose stravolte.
34 E tu sarai come chi giace in mezzo al mare, E come chi dorme in su la cima dell’albero della nave.
35 Tu dirai: Altri mi ha battuto, ed io non ne ho sentita la doglia; Altri mi ha pesto, ed io non me ne sono avveduto; Quando mi risveglierò? io tornerò a cercarlo ancora.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 KINGS 11

This chapter relates the false steps Solomon took, notwithstanding all his wisdom, in marrying strange wives, and worshipping other gods, 1Ki 11:1-8 upon which the Lord threatens him to rend the kingdom in his son's time, 1Ki 11:9-13 and he raised up adversaries against him, Hadad, Rezon, and Jeroboam, 1Ki 11:14-26 of which last an account is given, and of his being assured by Ahijah the prophet of his having ten of the tribes of Israel given to him; which Solomon having notice of sought to slay him, 1Ki 11:27-40 and the chapter is concluded with an account of Solomon's death and burial, 1Ki 11:41-43.
