Job 41:11

Listen to Job 41:11
11 Who can confront me that I should repay him? Everything under heaven belongs to me!

Job 41:11 Meaning and Commentary

Job 41:11

Who hath prevented me, that one should repay [him]?
&c.] First given me something that was not my own, and so laid me under an obligation to him to make a return. The apostle seems to have respect to this passage, ( Romans 11:35 ) ;

[whatsoever is] under the whole heaven is mine;
the fowls of the air, the cattle on a thousand hills, the fulness of the earth; gold, silver: precious stones All things are made by him, are his property and at his dispose; and therefore no man on earth can give him what he has not a prior right unto; see ( Psalms 24:1 ) ( 50:10-12 ) .

Job 41:11 In-Context

9 Certainly, any hope [of defeating it] is a false hope. Doesn't the sight of it overwhelm you?

11 Who can confront me that I should repay him? Everything under heaven belongs to me!
12 "I will not be silent about Leviathan's limbs, its strength, or its graceful form.
