Mark 9:6

Listen to Mark 9:6
6 (Peter didn't know how to respond. He and the others were terrified.)

Mark 9:6 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 9:6

For he wist not what to say
He did not know what he should say, or what was proper to be said by him, at such a time, in such circumstances, and before such persons;

for they were sore afraid.
The Persic version reads, "he was": and so the Latin translation of the Syriac, though that itself is, "they were"; for all three were filled with consternation at what they saw and heard; so that they were scarcely themselves, and knew not well what they said or did.

Mark 9:6 In-Context

4 Then Elijah and Moses appeared to them and were talking with Jesus.
5 Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it's good that we're here. Let's put up three tents--one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
6 (Peter didn't know how to respond. He and the others were terrified.)
7 Then a cloud overshadowed them. A voice came out of the cloud and said, "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!"
8 Suddenly, as they looked around, they saw no one with them but Jesus.
