Kalev the son of Hetzron became the father of [children] of `Azuvah [his] wife, and of Yeri`ot; and these were her sons: Yesher, and Shovav, and Ardon.

`Azuvah died, and Kalev took to him Efrat, who bore him Hur.

Hur became the father of Uri, and Uri became the father of Betzal'el.

Afterward Hetzron went in to the daughter of Makhir the father of Gil`ad, whom he took [as wife] when he was sixty years old; and she bore him Seguv.

Seguv became the father of Ya'ir, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gil`ad.
