Numbers 10:3 Meaning and Commentary

Numbers 10:3

And when they shall blow with them
With both the trumpets, in an even and continued sound, that is, the sons of Aaron:

all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the
tabernacle of the congregation;
to hear what was to be said unto them: blowing both the trumpets together was a token that the whole congregation was called to meet together at the tabernacle, the door of which was the usual place of assembling, especially on religious counts, for there also the Lord met them, ( Exodus 29:42 Exodus 29:43 ) .

Numbers 10:3 In-Context

1 The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying,
2 Make you two trumpets of silver; of beaten work shall you make them: and you shall use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps.
3 When they shall blow them, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the door of the tent of meeting.
4 If they blow but one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Yisra'el, shall gather themselves to you.
5 When you blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side shall take their journey.
