1 Kings 8:28

Yet have thou respect to the prayer of thy servant, and to his
supplication, O Lord my God
Meaning himself, who, though a king acknowledged himself, and esteemed it an honour to be the servant of the Lord, and who was also an humble suppliant of his, and desired his prayers and supplications might be attended to:

to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which thy servant prayeth
before thee this day;
the particulars of which follow.

26 Ahora pues, oh Dios de Israel, que sea firme tu palabra que dijiste a tu siervo David mi padre

27 ¿Es verdad que Dios haya de morar sobre la tierra? He aquí que los cielos, los cielos de los cielos, no te pueden contener; ¿cuánto menos esta Casa que yo he edificado

29 que estén tus ojos abiertos de noche y de día sobre esta Casa, sobre este lugar del cual has dicho: Mi nombre estará allí; y que oigas la oración que tu siervo hará en este lugar

30 Oirás pues la oración de tu siervo, y de tu pueblo Israel; cuando oraren en este lugar, también tú lo oirás en el lugar de tu habitación, desde los cielos; que oigas y perdones
