1 Kings 8:40

That they may fear thee
For his goodness sake in hearing their prayer, removing their affliction, and bestowing his blessings on them, particularly in forgiving their sins, see ( Psalms 130:4 ) ( Hosea 3:5 )

all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our
fathers;
not only for the present, while the mercy is fresh, but all the days of their lives; to which they were the more obliged by the good land they possessed as a divine gift, and which they held by the tenure of their obedience, ( Isaiah 1:19 ) .

38 toda oración y toda súplica que hiciere cualquier hombre, o todo tu pueblo Israel, cuando cualquiera sintiere la plaga de su corazón, y extendiere sus manos a esta Casa

39 tú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, y perdonarás, y obrarás, y darás a cada uno conforme a todos sus caminos, cuyo corazón tú conoces (porque sólo tú conoces el corazón de todos los hijos de los hombres)

40 para que te teman todos los días que vivieren sobre la faz de la tierra que tú diste a nuestros padres

41 Asimismo el extranjero, que no es de tu pueblo Israel, que hubiere venido de lejanas tierras a causa de tu nombre

42 (porque habrán oído de tu gran nombre, y de tu mano fuerte, y de tu brazo extendido), y viniere a orar a esta Casa
