1 Samuel 12:1

And Samuel said unto all Israel
When assembled at Gilgal, after they had recognized Saul as their king, and he was established in the kingdom, and while in the midst of their mirth and joy:

behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye have said unto
me;
respecting the affair of a king, to which it must be limited, as appears by what follows; otherwise it is possible, in some things they might apply to him about, he did not think fit to hearken to them, and grant their request, or speak for them:

and have made a king over you;
that is, had by the direction and appointment of God chosen one by lot, anointed and declared him king; for it was the Lord alone, that, properly speaking, made him a king.

2 Ahora, pues, he aquí vuestro rey va delante de vosotros. Yo soy ya viejo y cano; mas mis hijos están con vosotros, y yo he andado delante de vosotros desde mi juventud hasta este día

3 Aquí estoy; atestiguad contra mí delante del SEÑOR y delante de su ungido, si he tomado el buey de alguno, o si he tomado el asno de alguno, o si he calumniado a alguien, o si he agraviado a alguno, o si de alguien he tomado cohecho {Heb. rescate} por el cual haya cubierto mis ojos; y os satisfaré

4 Entonces dijeron: Nunca nos has calumniado, ni agraviado, ni has tomado algo de mano de ningún hombre

5 Y él les dijo: El SEÑOR es testigo contra vosotros, y su ungido también es testigo en este día, que no habéis hallado en mi mano cosa ninguna. Y ellos respondieron: Así es
