8 Por tanto la ira del SEÑOR ha venido sobre Judá y Jerusalén, y los ha entregado a turbación, y a execración y escarnio, como veis vosotros con vuestros ojos

2 Chronicles 29:8

Wherefore the wrath of the Lord was upon. Judah and Jerusalem,
&c.] As appeared, by suffering the Syrians, and Israelites, and Edomites, and Philistines, to come upon them, and distress them, as the history of the preceding chapter shows:

and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing,
as ye see with your eyes;
such desolation and destruction were made among them, as not only threw them into a stupor, that they knew not what to do, but were amazing to all their neighbours, and caused them to hiss at them, which they could not but be sensible of.

6 Porque nuestros padres se han rebelado, y han hecho lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR nuestro Dios; que le dejaron, y apartaron sus rostros del tabernáculo del SEÑOR, y le volvieron las espaldas

7 Y aun cerraron las puertas del pórtico, y apagaron las lámparas; no quemaron incienso, ni sacrificaron holocausto en el santuario al Dios de Israel

8 Por tanto la ira del SEÑOR ha venido sobre Judá y Jerusalén, y los ha entregado a turbación, y a execración y escarnio, como veis vosotros con vuestros ojos

9 Y he aquí nuestros padres han caído a espada, nuestros hijos y nuestras hijas y nuestras mujeres son cautivas por esto

10 Ahora pues, está en mi corazón hacer pacto con el SEÑOR Dios de Israel, para que aparte de nosotros la ira de su furor
