2 Kings 13:18

And he said, take the arrows, and he took them
The rest of them:

and he said unto the king of Israel,
smite upon the ground; the floor of the room in which the prophet lay:

and he smote thrice, and stayed;
made a stop, ceased smiting; he might think this action trifling, and beneath him, only was willing to please the prophet, but did not do it with a good will, and therefore smote no more; though this was an emblem of his smiting the Syrians, which he might not understand.

16 Y le dijo al rey de Israel: Pon tu mano sobre el arco como para tirar. Y puso él su mano sobre el arco. Entonces puso Eliseo sus manos sobre las manos del rey

17 y dijo: Abre la ventana hacia el oriente. Y cuando él la abrió dijo Eliseo: Tira. Y tirando él, dijo Eliseo: Saeta de salvación del SEÑOR, y saeta de salvación contra Siria; porque herirás a los sirios en Afec, hasta consumirlos

19 Entonces el varón de Dios, enojado con él, le dijo: A herir cinco o seis veces, herirías a Siria, hasta no quedar ninguno; pero ahora tres veces herirás a Siria

20 Y murió Eliseo, y lo sepultaron. Entrado el año vinieron ejércitos de moabitas a la tierra
