13 Y Hazael dijo: ¿Por qué? ¿Es tu siervo perro, que hará esta gran cosa? Y respondió Eliseo: El SEÑOR me ha mostrado que tú has de ser rey de Siria

2 Kings 8:13

And Hazael said, but what, [is] thy servant a dog, that he
should do this great thing?
&c.] What dost thou take me to be, a vile, impudent, fierce, and cruel creature, as a dog, to be guilty of so great inhumanity and barbarity as this? or what is thy servant? a dog, a mean abject creature, of no power and authority, incapable of doing such great things spoken of? to which sense not only what is predicted of him, said to be great, inclines, but what follows:

and Elisha answered, the Lord hath showed me that thou shall be king
over Syria;
and that thou shalt have power enough to do this; this declaration, according to Ben Gersom, was the anointing of him, predicted ( 1 Kings 19:15 ) .

11 Y el varón de Dios le miró fijamente, y se estuvo así hasta avergonzarse; y lloró el varón de Dios

12 Entonces le dijo Hazael: ¿Por qué llora mi señor? Y él respondió: Porque sé el mal que has de hacer a los hijos de Israel; a sus fortalezas pegarás fuego, y a sus jóvenes matarás a espada, y estrellarás a sus niños, y abrirás a sus preñadas

13 Y Hazael dijo: ¿Por qué? ¿Es tu siervo perro, que hará esta gran cosa? Y respondió Eliseo: El SEÑOR me ha mostrado que tú has de ser rey de Siria

14 Y él se fue de Eliseo, y vino a su señor, el cual le dijo: ¿Qué te dijo Eliseo? Y él respondió: Me dijo que podrás ciertamente sanarse

15 Al día siguiente tomó un paño basto, y lo metió en agua, y lo tendió sobre el rostro de Ben-adad, y murió; y reinó Hazael en su lugar
