21 Y respondió Itai al rey, diciendo: Vive Dios, y vive mi señor el rey, que, o para muerte o para vida, donde mi señor el rey estuviere, allí estará también tu siervo

2 Samuel 15:21

And Ittai answered the king, and said
With an oath, as follows:

[as] the Lord liveth, and [as] my lord the king liveth;
which he took to confirm what he after says, and to put an end to the debate between them:

surely, in what place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or
life, even there also will thy servant be;
signifying that he would attend him wherever he went, hazard his life in his cause, and live and die with him.

19 Y dijo el rey a Itai, el geteo: ¿Para qué vienes tú también con nosotros? Vuélvete y quédate con el rey; porque tú eres extranjero, y desterrado también de tu lugar

20 ¿Ayer viniste, y he de hacer hoy que mudes lugar para ir con nosotros? Yo voy como voy; tú vuélvete, y haz volver a tus hermanos; en ti hay misericordia y verdad

22 Entonces David dijo a Itai: Ven pues, y pasa. Y pasó Itai, el geteo, y todos sus varones, y todos sus pequeños

23 Y todos los de la tierra lloraron en alta voz; y pasó todo el pueblo el arroyo de Cedrón; y después pasó el rey, y todo el pueblo pasó, al camino que va al desierto
