But in response, Ittai vowed to the king, "As surely as the Lord lives and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king is, whether it means life or death, your servant will be there!"

Itthai antwortete und sprach: So wahr der HERR lebt, und so wahr mein Kƶnig lebt, an welchem Ort mein Herr, der Kƶnig, sein wird, es gerate zum Tod oder zum Leben, da wird dein Knecht auch sein.

But Ittai replied to the king, "You are my king and master. I want to be where you are. It doesn't matter whether I live or die. And that's just as sure as the LORD and you are alive."
