Esther 9:21

To stablish this among them
That it might be a settled thing, and annually observed in all future generations, what they had now done:

that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the
fifteenth day of the same, yearly;
as the former had been observed by the Jews in the provinces, and both by those in Shushan, ( Esther 9:17-19 )

as festivals in commemoration of their great deliverance; hence the fourteenth of Adar is called the day of Mordecai, being established by him;

``And they ordained all with a common decree in no case to let that day pass without solemnity, but to celebrate the thirtieth day of the twelfth month, which in the Syrian tongue is called Adar, the day before Mardocheus' day.'' (2 Maccabees 15:36)

19 Por tanto los judíos aldeanos que habitan en las villas sin muro, celebran a los catorce del mes de Adar el día de alegría y de banquete, y buen día, y de enviar porciones cada uno a su vecino

20 Y escribió Mardoqueo estas cosas, y envió cartas a todos los judíos que estaban en todas las provincias del rey Asuero, cercanos y distantes

21 Constituyéndoles que celebraran el día décimocuarto del mes de Adar, y el decimoquinto del mismo, cada año

22 por aquellos días en que los judíos tuvieron reposo de sus enemigos, y el mes que se les fue tornado de tristeza en alegría, y de luto en día bueno; que los hicieran días de banquete y de gozo, y de enviar porciones cada uno a su vecino, y dádivas a los pobres

23 Y los judíos aceptaron y comenzaron a hacer, lo que les escribió Mardoqueo
