12 Y entendí que Dios no lo había enviado, sino que hablaba aquella profecía contra mí, porque Tobías y Sanbalat le habían alquilado por salario

Nehemiah 6:12

And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him
Because he advised to that which was against the cause of God and true religion:

but that he pronounced the prophecy against me;
for by fleeing, as he advised, it would seem that he was guilty of the crimes of rebellion and treason he was charged with; and leaving the people, as they would in course break up, he himself could not be long in safety, no, not in the temple:

for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him;
this he found out afterwards, on purpose to intimidate him, and take such measures as that thereby he would lose his character and his influence.

10 Vine luego en secreto a casa de Semaías hijo de Delaía, hijo de Mehetabel, porque él estaba encerrado; el cual me dijo: Juntémonos en la casa de Dios dentro del templo, y cerremos las puertas del templo, porque vienen para matarte; sí, esta noche vendrán a matarte

11 Entonces dije: ¿Un hombre como yo ha de huir? ¿Y quién hay como yo que entre al templo y viva? No entraré

12 Y entendí que Dios no lo había enviado, sino que hablaba aquella profecía contra mí, porque Tobías y Sanbalat le habían alquilado por salario

13 Porque fue sobornado para hacerme temer así, y que pecare, y les sirviera de mal nombre con que fuera yo infamado

14 Acuérdate, Dios mío, de Tobías y de Sanbalat, conforme a estas obras suyas, y también de Noadías profetisa, y de los otros profetas que hacían por infundirme miedo
