2 Porque la mujer que está sujeta a marido, mientras el marido vive está obligada a la ley; mas muerto el marido, ella es libre de la ley del marido

Romans 7:2

For the woman which hath an husband
The former general rule is here illustrated by a particular instance and example in the law of marriage; a woman that is married to a man,

is bound by the law to her husband;
to live with him, in subjection and obedience to him,

so long as he liveth;
except in the cases of adultery, ( Matthew 19:9 ) , and desertion, ( 1 Corinthians 7:15 ) , by which the bond of marriage is loosed, and for which a divorce or separation may be made, which are equal to death:

but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her
husband;
the bond of marriage is dissolved, the law of it is abolished, and she is at entire liberty to marry whom she will, ( 1 Corinthians 7:39 ) .

1 ¿O ignoráis, hermanos (hablo con los que saben la ley), que la ley solamente se enseñorea del hombre entre tanto que vive

2 Porque la mujer que está sujeta a marido, mientras el marido vive está obligada a la ley; mas muerto el marido, ella es libre de la ley del marido

3 Así que, viviendo el marido, se llamará adúltera si fuere de otro varón; mas si su marido muriere, es libre de la ley (del marido); de tal manera que no será adúltera si fuere de otro marido

4 Así también vosotros, hermanos míos, sois muertos a la ley en el cuerpo del Cristo, para que seáis de otro, del que resucitó de los muertos, para que fructifiquemos a Dios

5 Porque mientras vivíamos en la carne, los afectos de los pecados que eran por la ley, obraban en nuestros miembros fructificando a muerte
