The ark was brought to Zion, and the above persons appointed to minister before it:

David delivered first this psalm to thank the Lord into the hand of
Asaph and his brethren
to be sung by them now, and on every proper occasion; and this seems to be the first that was delivered to them; afterwards there were many more, as the titles of the psalms show; the following is composed of part of two others, as they now stand in the book of Psalms. 5 Asaph [was] chief, and his second [was] Zechariah; Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel [were] on harps and lyres. And Asaph played on the cymbals.

6 And Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests [blew] on the trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.

8 Give thanks to Yahweh; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the nations!

9 Sing to him; sing praises to him; tell of his wondrous works!
