Exodus 12:50

50 And all the {Israelites} did as Yahweh had commanded Moses and Aaron; so they did.

Exodus 12:50 Meaning and Commentary

Exodus 12:50

Thus did all the children of Israel
They slew a lamb, and roasted and ate it, with unleavened bread, and bitter herbs, and took a bunch of hyssop, and dipped it in the blood, and struck the lintel and the side posts of the doors of their houses: this they did on the night of their deliverance out of Egypt: as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they;
being instructed by them; which is an instance of their ready and cheerful obedience to the divine will, which they were under great obligation to perform, from a grateful sense of the wonderful mercy and favour they now were made partakers of.

Exodus 12:50 In-Context

48 And when an alien dwells with you and he wants to prepare [the] Passover for Yahweh, every male belonging to him must be circumcised, and then he may come near to prepare it, and he will be as the native of the land, but any uncircumcised [man] may not eat it.
49 One law will be for the native and for the alien who is dwelling in your midst."
50 And all the {Israelites} did as Yahweh had commanded Moses and Aaron; so they did.
51 And it was on exactly this day Yahweh brought the {Israelites} out from the land of Egypt by their divisions.
