Ezekiel 46:23

23 And a row [was] all around inside them, and cooking-places [were] made under the rows of stones all around.

Ezekiel 46:23 Meaning and Commentary

Ezekiel 46:23

And there was a row of building round about in them
Within the courts, not on the outside of them: these were either chambers to eat the sacrifices in when boiled; or they were sheds which covered the cooks, and the meat they were boiling, from the rain: the Targum renders it,

``and walls were made to them round about;''
to the court: and so Jarchi and Kimchi interpret this row of building of a stone wall: round about them four;
the four courts at the four corners: and it was made with boiling places under the rows round about;
under these rows of building, chambers or sheds; or under these stone walls were furnaces, and coppers, and caldrons, set on them, for the boiling of the sacrifices.

Ezekiel 46:23 In-Context

21 And he brought me to the outer courtyard and led me past the four corners of the courtyard; and look, {there was a courtyard in each corner of the courtyard}.
22 In the four corners of the courtyard [were] small courtyards forty [cubits] [in] length and thirty [cubits] [in] width, [each with] {the same measurements} for the four of them with corners.
23 And a row [was] all around inside them, and cooking-places [were] made under the rows of stones all around.
24 And he said to me, "These [are] the houses for cooking, where [the ones] serving the temple shall cook the sacrifices of the people."
