7 "{Prepare yourself for a difficult task like a man}, and I will question you, and you shall declare to me.

Job 40:7

Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and,
declare thou unto me
And prepare to give an answer to what should be demanded of him. The same way of speaking is used in ( Job 38:3 ) ; (See Gill on Job 38:3).

5 Once I have spoken, and I will not answer; even twice, but I will not proceed."
6 Then Yahweh answered Job from the storm, and he said,
7 "{Prepare yourself for a difficult task like a man}, and I will question you, and you shall declare to me.
8 "Indeed, would you annul my justice? Would you condemn me, so that you might be righteous?
9 Or do you have an arm like God, and can you thunder with a voice like his?
