Psalms 135:2

2 who stand in the house of Yahweh, in the courts of the house of our God.

Psalms 135:2 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 135:2

Ye that stand in the house of the Lord
That have a place and standing there, and go not out, being sons as well as servants; (See Gill on Psalms 134:1) and (See Gill on Psalms 84:4);

in the courts of the house of our God;
alluding to the courts in the temple, the court of the priests, where they stood and ministered, slaying and offering their sacrifices; and the great court, where all the Israelites stood and worshipped, ( 2 Chronicles 4:9 ) . So this may describe the worshippers of God in common, who should praise him: and happy are they that have a place here; see ( Psalms 84:1 Psalms 84:2 Psalms 84:10 ) .

Psalms 135:2 In-Context

1 Praise Yah! Praise the name of Yahweh. Praise [him], O servants of Yahweh,
2 who stand in the house of Yahweh, in the courts of the house of our God.
3 Praise Yah, for Yahweh [is] good. Sing praises concerning his name, for [it is] pleasant.
4 For Yah has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his special possession.
5 For I know that Yahweh [is] great, and our Lord [is greater] than all gods.
