1 Samuel 21:12

And David laid up these words in his heart
Pondered upon them, and thought them over in his mind, finding that he was known, and his character also, and considered with himself what might be the consequence of this:

and was sore afraid of Achish the king of Gath;
lest he should be set against him, and be prevailed upon by his servants to take away his life, or deliver him up into the hands of Saul.

11 Les serviteurs d'Akisch lui dirent: N'est-ce pas là David, roi du pays? n'est-ce pas celui pour qui l'on chantait en dansant: Saül a frappé ses mille, -Et David ses dix mille?
12 David prit à coeur ces paroles, et il eut une grande crainte d'Akisch, roi de Gath.
13 Il se montra comme fou à leurs yeux, et fit devant eux des extravagances; il faisait des marques sur les battants des portes, et il laissait couler sa salive sur sa barbe.
14 Akisch dit à ses serviteurs: Vous voyez bien que cet homme a perdu la raison; pourquoi me l'amenez-vous?
